Rich and Powerful US
After World War 2, Christian nations (churches) were the light to the world by bringing in the gospel, schools, hospitals and charities to help the poor and needy nations. They were highly respected and mankind then lived in some security and harmony. Since the wars and the great depression, US has emerged as the richest and most powerful nation.
After US has committed the abominable sin of legalising homosexuality and same-sex marriage in late 1990s and using the UN Human Rights to force the rest of the world to accept these abominations that they were feared and hated.
Rise of Terrorism
Since the successful aerial destruction of the Twin Towers in New York in 2001, 11 September by the Islamic extremists, that Muslims no longer fear the invincibility of the US. This led to the formation of the many new Islamic terrorist groups, who believed that the time of the appearance of their Mahdī (Messiah) was near.
Mahdi or Messiah
Mahdī, (Arabic: "guided one") in Islamic eschatology, a messianic deliverer who will fill earth with justice and equity, restore true religion, and usher in a short golden age lasting seven, eight, or nine years before the end of the world. The belief in the end-time Mahdi is almost universally accepted across all Sunni and Shi'a Muslim denominations.
Before his reappearance (Arabic: ظهور, romanized: ṭuhūr), the world will plunge into chaos, where immorality and ignorance will be commonplace, the Qur'an will be forgotten, and religion will be abandoned. There will be plagues, earthquakes, floods, wars and death.
Arab Spring
The demonstrations and protests of the poor against the corrupt governments across the Middle East and North Africa that commenced in December 2010, became known as the "Arab Spring. Within a short period of 3 months, almost all Muslim countries were involved in this 'Arab Spring', which developed into the Arab Uprisings with civil wars and rebellions in many Arab countries. By the end of February 2012, rulers had been forced from power in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya.
Muslims are getting bolder and are fearless to fight for justice and the extremists are preparing the arrival of their Mahdi. Their war cry is 'Allahu Akbar' or 'Allah is great'
The common opinion among the Sunnis is that the Mahdi is an expected ruler to be sent by God before the end times to re-establish righteousness. He will eradicate injustice and evil from the world. He is held to be from among the descendants of Muhammad.
Note all the leadership of Iran are supposed to be the descendants of Muhammad.
Mahdi is alive
In Twelver Shi'ism, the largest Shi'i branch, the belief in the messianic imam is not merely a part of the creed, but the pivot. For the Twelver Shi'a, the Mahdi was born but disappeared, and would remain hidden from humanity until he reappears to bring justice to the world at the end of time, a doctrine known as the Occultation.
The Iranians believe that the Mahdi is living in their midst and he will appear to deliver Iran when Iran is going to be defeated by its enemies. Then he will lead Iran to conquer the whole world for Islam.
So the Iranian leadership has been provoking Israel and its powerful allies of US and the West to attack and defeat Iran to hasten the appearing of their Mahdi.
Dan 11:29 "At the appointed time he (Iran - the king of the North) shall return and go toward the south; but it shall not be like the former or the latter."
So as soon as Israel and US attack Iran's nuclear and military sites, Iran will immediately send all its arsenal to attack Israel and the US military bases and warships. This will force Israel and US into a full scale war and the annihilation of the whole Iranian military.
